Sweet Words

If ever there was a phrase that I would like to see banned from "relationship vernacular" forever, it is the phrase "sweet words". Every time I see it, I have a visceral reaction and my imsides twist up. I see WAY too many posts talking about the "sweet words" the narc used to reel people in. Bleck, yuck, Ewwww and puke city.

Ladies, "sweet words" mean NOTHING. It's their ACTIONS that matter, not their words. Actions. Actions. Actions. Words are cheap, meaningless and oh so easy to string together, especilaly by text or e-mail and they can (and do) recycle them over and over and over again with woman after woman. With a Narc, the actions do not match the words. Too many of us, IMO, get all caught up in the magical/fantasy thinking of what a man is "supposed" to be like and fall into the trap of believing that "romantic", sweet words actually mean something and don't pay attention to what the Narc is actually doing, which is generally contradicting his "sweet" words. Getting caught up in this fantasy/magical thinking gets us into a LOT of trouble.

And while we're at it, let's ban "soul mate" and "knight in shining armor" too.
