Blocked #

I am new to blocking texts. Does it give a message failed so the sender knows it didn't go through? Or will it appear to go through and the receiver just doesn't get it? Also will it prompt me and tell me how many blocked texts were sent?

Contact your cell provider

Contact your cell provider and they can tell you, everyone is different. Unfortunately, my cell service won't send obscenties and F and die messages. Sprint service says the calls, never go through, never connect so he would probably know. I don't remember what they said about the text but it is much nicer than he deserves...:)

I Have An App

I downloaded to my android to block him from both texting and calling...his preferred method of contact is text...I don't know if he's tried because tbh, I don't know if the service would inform me if he did. I don't care if his message goes into a black abyss, never to be delivered and he never knows, or it bounces it back saying "the intended recipient doesn't want your text, douche bag! Fuck off!"...as far as he is concerned, if he's been trying, I'm ignoring him. As far as I am concerned, if he's been trying, ignorance is bliss.

I could block both text and calls

but I would still know if he had tried. Due to my lack of own self-discipline I completely changed my cell phone number and I deleted and setup a new email address. I feel so much better. Plus in my opinion if you setup a system with your cell provide to block sms/calls you can also have that system removed. Some people have the self-discipline not to do that, but I knew I did not. Problem solved.

the more pertinent thing here

the more pertinent thing here is that it doesnt matter. If you are feeling like you need to know if he tried to contact you you are still in the game. Not judging. Wow have I had a problem sticking to this but I finally able to do it now. I not only blocked him but I also went in and set up parental controls to keep me from texting him and it has helped me tremendously on nights where there has been alcohol involved.Had I not had that in place I am certain I would have texted. Dazedandconfused you gotta say to yourself it doesnt matter over and over. He has a wife and a newborn let alone a he is a Narc. There is no future with him. Not now not ever. Its painful but you have to accept it.

I believe it just depends on

I believe it just depends on your cell phone provider. I am with AT&T. Because I have a smartphone (Iphone) I have to pay an extra $5/month to block texts and calls. I can block up to 30 phone numbers. For text messages they(n) will hit send and to them it will appear to have been sent. They will receive no message at all. Nothing stating "you have been blocked". They will have no clue. YOu will not receive anything either. (Except peace of mind) You will have no clue when or if a message was blocked. For phone calls they will get a recording saying "This AT&T customer you are trying to reach is not available at this time. Please try again later." Again, you will never know about any attempts that were made to contact you. Since I have blocked the N, I do not wonder everytime the phone rings if it is him. I do not get nervous when I hear my tone for when I have a text message. Life is Good. I have to be honest and tell you that it was difficult at first to do and I did take the block off for about a day in the beginning and that is when I realized how much anxiety I had when the phone would ring. Once I put the block back on it felt very impowering! I was taking care of myself and I could relax.
