Did it get worse after marriage?

For those of you who married your N..did you notice that things got markedly worse after marriage? Not in the sense of going from mr perfect to becoming a monster, but more like...did the bad behaviours become more intense and frequent?

My ex says he wanted to marry me, I actually believe he did. We looked at rings together and I think he did want to lock me in. I think he viewed me as a nice accessory to the fabulous over the top life he was planning for himself. *eye roll*

That being said...he had made some remarks about gender roles and me being "the woman", to which I always told him to seriously shut the hell up. And he once said to me when talking about pregnancy "you will NOT eat junk food when you're pregnant". And I got the sense that if I married him he would feel even more entitled to be controlling.

Thoughts/experiences? I would love to hear.

Sidenote....odd thing is...my ex's behaviour improved in some ways and got far worse in others throughout our relationship. And I think it was that he became better at apologizing for/concealing bad behaviour but actually became more possessive/controlling/sexually degrading/etc...
