Do they get better as they age?

I have read so much about narcs but there is one thing that still confuses me. Do they get better with age? Some studies suggest they do. I am reading Keith Campbells book "When you love a man that loves himself. Now his studies were all done on young men, mostly college students and he believes they get better with age because at some point they just can't attract women like they use to and their grandiose image is harder to pull off when they get old.

Here is my question tell me what you all think...Do they get better with age or do we (those of us that married them and stayed a long time, or just stayed in the relationship without being married)just adjust better to their craziness and it seems that things are better.

I know that I, as time went on "adjusted", I learned what not to say, what subjects to avoid. What to hide from him all in the effort to avoid his rage. I lived in "fear", the kind of fear that is quiet but always lucking in the back ground. I didn't even know it. So things appeared better but I was the one walking on eggshells all the time. It happened slowly but surely. I didn't even know that I was walking on eggshells until I left the marriage.
