Myspace...

Thanks Barbara and very interesting indeed. "Nearly all of our students use Facebook, and it seems to be a normal part of people's social interactions," Campbell said. "It just turns out that narcissists are using Facebook the same way they use their other relationships – for self promotion with an emphasis on quantity of over quality." I also have seen this happen on dating sites. Where quantity is the norm for those searching for dates compared to quality. For me it has been a good indicator concerning the poster. As for Facebook or Myspace. I had one friend ask me why my account is restricted on Myspace. I replied stating I wasn’t on there to find new friends but to maintain contact with current friends. The friends reply was "what the fun in that"? Anyway, so in a way for me anyhow personally quality is the norm and I don’t want quantity. Now what this would tell researches of this study is unknown since it never mentions "restricted" accounts.

Another Pathological in the news.

as many of you know I am DEATH on online dating. Even Herb Vest, CEO of True.com says he knows that at least 1/3 or more of the people on his site are 'married' or personality disordered predators. Here's a great show again on an ONLINE DATING STORY GONE WRONG (how many of these do we need to hear before we know how BAD this ist?) He called himself "Dr. Jeff." His profile on Match.com said he was a trauma surgeon. In one online photograph, he wore hospital scrubs, with a stethoscope. In another, he wore Navy whites and held a sword. There was one of him in an astronaut's suit. One sitting in a cockpit. The lonely hearts who date online might expect a certain amount of innocent fudging in others' profiles. And there is always the risk of encountering the gross liar, whose online self-description has as little to do with the real person as scrubs have to do with the ability to operate. But many of the women who dated Jeffrey Marsalis say he was much worse than a liar. Cops and criminal prosecutors would come to agree. And after years of frustrating delays and multiple trials, a jury in Idaho would confirm the worst. http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=8043012&page=1 On TV 7/15/09 http://abcnews.go.com/primetime A great site to read daily is EOPC. My story with Psycho-Boy was first run there in 2005 but there are sooooo many stories. Each one of them has educated me further about how these pathologicals operate. Online & off.
