Fake Accent Phenomena

Anyone ever have their narc adopt a fake accent? CharlieSheenWinning adopts a phony Irish brogue when he's drunk. Dude is Irish by heritage but has never lived there. He's as American as the Star Spangle Banner and yet. . . this Irish thing comes out when he's, as the Irish would say, "langers."

Just curious if this is observable in anyone else's narc.

Why, why, WHY did I not run at first sign of the Lucky Charms guy??? :)

Too bad he didn't stutter

The ex-Psych prof had some weird effeminate/New England accent... and the only person who had an accent like him was my very much "out" former Narc boss. Virtual soundalikes. The ex-P was aspiring to a British accent. It's like he wanted to sound as prim&proper as Mr. Darcy... but the last I looked, Fitzwilliam Darcy didn't have a beer belly&rotting teeth. He was very stilted in his choice of words. Thank God he isn't an Oscar winner, or else I'd think there is no justice in this world.

Especially if they are perfect for the person. CharlieSheenWinning and NewWinningWife -- well, if only you knew! :) I wonder if ole Charlie himself adopts an Irish brogue when inebriated. I bet he does!

I love how you call him Charliesheenwinning, soo funny!! Mine was born in Australia but has an English background and yes he used to adopt the accent all the time! Weird weird weird. He would always say how much better England is than Australia blah blah blah despite having only gone for one holiday there. He would also go on and on about wanting to be in a 'firm'. If you don't know a firm is a gang that follows a particular soccer team and has fights with other 'firms'. So basically he wanted to be a part of senseless violence where people die and sometimes families get killed. Righto... Moving right along...
