Here's a whole album

Sia's "We are Born." A lot of the songs on there are about dysfunctional relationships, and they're beautiful. Probably one of the best of 2010.

Lisa Scott- Music

Thank all of you for your suggestions! They were all added to the I-pod. Lisa, I remembered you saying you like powerful female voices. I have a great suggestion for you, Annie Lenoxx "No more I love yous". Wow! She even mocks the monster in her room. Everyone take a listen. I should do something about this music talent. I think I will. :)

Over It-Katharine McPhee

I listen to this song every day when I go for a walk. My favorite part: Don't call, don't come by, ain't no use, don't ask me why, you'll never change, there'll be no more crying in the rain. Wanting you, to be wanting me. No that ain't no way to be. How I feel, read my lips, because I'm so over.. Moving on, it's my time, you never were a friend of mine. Hurt at first, a little bit, but now I'm so over. I'm so over it..

I can TOTALLY relate to what you're saying! I'm so glad you're reconnecting with music. It is so healing and cathartic. Above my piano, I have a piece of artwork that reads: "Music is what Feelings Sound Like" I LOVE powerful female vocalists. Here's my fave list, which is probably obvious, but a few others to mention include anything by Pink (Numb), Alicia Keys and Janis Joplin. You're So Vain Meeting Him Artist: Carly Simon Fade Into You Falling For Him Artist: Mazzy Star Carnival Trying To Understand Him Artist: Natalie Merchant Tear In Your Hand Feeling His Control Artist: Tori Amos Not The Doctor Seeing What You Are To Him Artist: Alanis Morissette It's Not You It's Me Getting Honest With Yourself Artist: Lisa E. Scott Give Me One Reason Giving Him A Chance To Prove You Wrong Artist: Tracy Chapman Hold On Preparing Yourself To End The Relationship Artist: Sarah McLachlan Criminal Ending The Relationship Artist: Fiona Apple Like The Way I Do Struggling To Accept How Quickly He Has Moved On Artist: Melissa Etheridge Feel So Different Realizing All You Need Is What Is Inside You Artist: Sinead O'Connor Our new site will allow us to post videos to express ourselves through music! xoxo

Blueeyes,

Some songs that helped me at the beginning were Daughtry's "Over You" One Republic "Apologize" almost anything by Kelly Clarkson Leona Lewis "Better in Time" Then I bought a Honda Civic and started listening to country music (I know weird, huh) and Carrie Underwood has dealt with her share. "Undo It" and Cowboy Casanova" are both good. But I just realized I probably started listening to country not because of the Honda, but because I never really did before and it has no association for me to the narc. We were always listening to music since he is a musician, and when I switched it up the music was just for me. I don't know what kind of music you like, but maybe make a change for a while so no song comes on the radio that makes you think "Oh we heard this when . . . "

I was a musician and he stole that hobby from me. So don't worry, NO MUSIC reminds me of him! He likes sad songs. I like all music! All of it! There is nothing (except for techno DJ bubble) that I wouldn't like.

I'm sorry he stole your music from you. But I have a feeling you will get back to it when you are ready. And the great thing about music is it will still be there waiting! You can always go back.

I play piano, self taught from age 8. This was something he never believed even tho he has seen me play it. Ppl would admire the piano (my grandmother) when they would come over our house and Narc would say "she claims she can play but all it does is collect dust, she can't play. " He hated on me for having talent. If I'm not reading about recovery, I'm listening to music or playing piano these days. He hates me now.

Wow, they are so insecure, aren't they? They can't even allow us to be good at something. It just kills them. That's so awesome that music is your outlet and you can play it and listen to it whenever you want now! They may stump us for a bit, but there are things they can never take away from us...never! My childhood buddy Cindy has always made me the best mix tapes, CD's etc. over the years. Below is a CD Mix she sent me a year and a half ago that I find soooooooooo incredibly empowering. You have to check these out if you're not familiar with them. They are so powerful! Blackbird ~Sarah McLachlan Many the Miles ~Sara Bareilles Hold On KT Tunstall Show Some Emotion Joan Armatrading Love Song ~Sara Bareilles Put Your Heart Into It ~Sherrie Austin Not Ready to Make Nice ~Dixie Chicks Yes I Was ~Chalee Tennison Rain on a Tin Roof ~Julie Roberts Forget About It Alison Krauss & Union Station Solo Act ~Abby Ahmad Sitting in the Sun ~Michelle Malone & Band D Miniature Disasters ~KT Tunstall World on Fire ~Sarah McLachlan Vegas ~Sara Bareilles Willow ~Joan Armatrading River Song ~Abby Ahmad
