How come he was more physically aggressive with me than her?

ExN used to throw me out of his car countless times, pulled my hair, would be viciously mad if u dirtied his car and one time I asked him for hand lotion he squeezed a drop in my hand and u called him cheap because I had bought him the lotion. He proceeded to squirt the almost the whole lotion in my hands when I tried to give some back to him some fell on him he smeared everything on my new pants. I cried so much I called him abusive. He said his 'sorry' blah blah. One time he broke a pair of my designer glasses because water spilled in his car and he snapped my glasses in half and threw them out the car. Now that I think of him he's a fucking selfish ass. Back to my question I talked to the girl that left me for his 'first gf' ( he was cheating on her with me, unbeknownst to me) she said he was not like this with her. Did he hate me more? Why? Thoughts?
