What type is your Narcissist? Somatic or Cerebral?

It sounds like a lot of the Ns discussed here are the somatic type... who often cheat a lot. My N was dominated by his cerebral narcissism but still had a somatic side which would get stonger or weaker / come and go.

Back in High school he would stare in the mirror all the time and go to the gym daily like clock work. He wanted to "conquer" girls and saw them as sexual targets...

Now as he ages he has become more cerebral (much easier to hide... much more socially acceptable) Its very related to his career. But now that he has dumped me the freedom has brought out his somatic narcissism again. he is obsessing over his body and his physical image. He dyed his hair in a stupid way that is outdated ... literally something he has done or would do if he were back in high school ... age 18. its just ridiculous.

it is all very disturbing and at the same time fascinating.

Somatic...but also Cerebral....

I swear that Mr. N is actually both but with a definate lean towards Somatic. He is very attractive but is also extremely articulate and bright. I suspect he will be extremely successful.

Oh yes

mine too. He has always been very attractive but like most of us in our 40's gained a few pounds but wasnt fat. He had yet another ugly break up with a girlfriend and he got on FB thats where we found eachother. We chatted for a few months and then he decided to come see me. Well when he showed up he had lost 40lbs and his body was completely ripped and I mean smokin hot. All that time he was chatting with me didnt say a word about it. Didnt post a pic or anything. He definitely wanted me to have the Wow factor when he showed up. Now he is completely into his looks. Professional pics made. Sexy pics of him on his Harley. He's on match.com you name it. He definitely set out to impress me. He's all about impressing even with me. He wanted to take me to a party and his comments were "cant wait till I show up with the Blonde Bombshell the tongues will be wagging" on another occassion he said "20 years later and I still want to show you off to the business world" I took all of this as compliments but knowing what I know now it was about him and how I made HIM look good. It had nothing to do with me. I was a mere accessory So I would say he is Predominantly Somatic.
