Grace
Grace
Dealing with my experiences, my faith faltered in some ways and grew in others. Moving forward with my life is all about spiritual growth. At Al Anon, I learned a saying: Religion is for people afraid of going to hell; spirituality is for people who've already been there.
I hope this is okay to share, Lisa, some Christian thoughts. If any of you aren't comfortable with it, I'm not offended, I'd just like to share for anyone who would like it.
My love for God has grown, because of feeling his grace and forgiveness for the things I have done wrong with these relationships, but even more for WHO God is. The opposite of treachery and inconsistency. God doesn't change. A verse I've always liked and now love is..."Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday, and forever." Not bait and switch. Not lies. Not trying to perform properly for love that I cannot seem to get!
This is from a devotional booklet I have, dated Mar 31.
"GRACE...grace is the gift of unlimited blessings that I receive without any requirements or stipulations being placed on me. [how to wear my hair, how to do this, or say that or anything else!] There is no term I must meet and there is nothing I can do to earn or lose the unconditional love of my Creator.
Grace is always present and blessing me, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. [not when someone "feels like" giving it to me] Mercy and goodwill are mine now and always. [Mercy!! And Goodwill!! Imagine!] The gift of grace proclaims that I am of UNQUESTIONABLE VALUE to my Creator. [Unquestionable!]
The generosity of God inspires me to give back in return. Yet the reality is that I am always blessed with more than I give.
I gratefully accept the gift of Grace, knowing that my true nature is that of a kind and loving creation of God, deserving of good."
Peace, ladies.
