Hi,
maybe some of you remember me from more than a year back... well I managed to maintain no contact and at this point I can say I am truly over the Ex-N. How I know? Well, I have run into him and it doesn't bother me. And also, I have started dating again and also just feel great about myself even without a guy...
Here's my question regarding dating though.
I think I can spot a narc now right away but I do get doubts about it and I want to avoid EVER being with a narc again AT ANY COST!
So, what are some of the things I should be looking for that would give away a narc pretty quickly?
I am currently flirting with someone and things seem to be moving fast - not unnaturally fast, just fast, but I am so insecure after having fallen for a narc once that I second-question EVERYTHING about new guys I meet.
Particularly, are there any questions I should ask him to see what he responds?
I am definitely looking to see if
- he's showing empathy (the ex-N NEVER did, not even when we started dating)
- any signs of manipulating me
- how he talks about his ex (haven't talked about her yet)
- weird relationship patterns
anything else I should be looking for? We have just started flirting and sort of dating, so it's possible that nothing will come out of it anyway but you never know...
I'd be grateful for any tips!
thanks
