What to do when you find out your Mother is a Narc

I have been a member on this forum for over 3 years..had a brutal 'relationship' with a Psychopath/N,,and only way I was able to fully revover was because of the love support and understanding of this site and the many intelligent contributors and members here!!!!

Anyway,,it is becoming quite clear to me that many of my pains and abuse during childhood was inflicted upon me by my mother who it is now dawning on me that she may a Narc, someone who physically, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically abused me while growing up, and still does to this day, not physically however it is through snide comments to me "I don't like who you are voting for" and other 'splitting' and devisive behaviors, such as talking about me behind my back to my sister in law, who is more than eager to chime in how foolish I am for buying expensive cheese as a gift to my family as a treat and oh, is she up to that spending again, she could get 3 times that amt of cheese at cosco...wow they say whispering about me, well I was in the other room and could hear all their comments...

For lack of a better term, it really sucks when you find out your mother does and continues to treat you like this, and don't get it.

It is cruel, and she seems to be passive aggressive as my brother says, and it seems like it is getting worse and more pronounced with age.

Has anyone here encountered the same thing...how did you deal with it!
