thats what i used to call him, billy no mates, and if he said "a freind of mine said" scream!!. i used to say you havent got any freinds . he did have once. it was me. he knows this now, well he knew it at the time, but he cannot be ,what he is not. a caring feeling unselfish person, and now its to late. he is so emeshed in that persona, he couldnt be diffrent if he tried, he wouldnt even know how to go about it.

acquaintance friends mostly

Mine collected friends but didn't really pursue friendships that were close and intimate. It seems as though distance is a factor for a successful relationship with him. If he's friends with someone in the same town, he doesn't develop the friendship and seems uncomfortable accepting invitations from them. He has LOTS of female friends, who again, are in other towns. I think his personality is so severely self-centered that after awhile, people distance themselves and he's gotten used to keeping them at arms length - to protect his ego from the inevitable rejection. I look back on friends and family members that I've met over the years and there was a certain distance that everyone maintained around him. Now I know why.

Believe in yourself!
