Anonymous Letter

As you all can see, I've been a member of this forum for quite some time. I have been NC with XNH for about a year and a half, except for his occasional attempts at hoovering me through my place of employment. I was married to him for six years, together for nine. About three months ago, he left some pretty vile voicemails on my workplace phone. The voicemails were left at 3 am in the morning. I did not respond but saved the messages in case I ever needed them if he started following me or worse.

At the end of 2013, December 29th to be exact, I received an anonymous letter at my place of employment. The letter read, "Your X husband, XXX XXXXX, had an affair with XXXXXXXX XXXXXXX and XXX XXXX at your home while you were at work.

No, I have not responded nor do I intend to respond. However, it did hurt for some time. I left him because he was emotionally and physically abusive, not because I suspected he was cheating on me.

Then I had a thought. Perhaps it was XNH who sent the letter. The two women named in the letter are people he knew who I did not like.

When I left him, I know I hurt his ego. In fact, he was thoroughly p*ssed when he tried to triangulate me with another woman about a year and a half ago and I took the high road with NC FINALLY! (thanks to this site and a great counselor).

It's been kind of bugging me though. Who would set out to hurt me all over again? The result in the end would still be the same, right?

I'd just like some feedback from this site's members because, as you know, we've all rode the roller coaster ride with narcs. Would he be that delusional to think I would lash out after all this time?
