Comfortably Numb

This is such a powerful song. "Comfortably Numb" is something most of us experience when we are living in denial. That's what this song represents to me. It's a wake up call to snap out of it. That's the great thing about music and poetry. Everyone has their own interpretation of what it means to them. This song represents a period in my life where I finally snapped out of it and woke up. Not when it first came out, of couse, I was too young to wake up from anything, but later in my early thirties this song became very instrumental in my recovery.

These lyrics describe when I finally woke up and got out from under his spell:

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can’t hear what you’re saying

When we get to this point, we know we have finally deprogrammed from him!!!! I wish this for every single one of you here and trust me, it will happen for you. It takes time, but it will happen if you stay true to yourself and maintain No Contact! xoxo

Ha! "Is there anybody in

Ha! "Is there anybody in there?" No, there isn't. So true! Oh yes, they absolutely know what they are! The subconscious is so powerful. We rarely tap into it, but it is always working. To give you an idea of how incredible it is, it works at a rate 5 times faster than we can speak. You know how you can't remember someone's name or a the title of a movie so you tell yourself you'll think of it later. Then....later, when you're doing something totally different, the name or title pops in your head. You're amazed because you weren't thinking about it at all, right? Well, your subconscious is ALWAYS working and ALWAYS thinking and that's exactly how that name or title popped into your head when you weren't consciously thinking about it! Our subconscious drives ALL of our behavior and we don't even realize it. It's amazing the things we relate to and connect with on a subconscious level. When we stop and analyze things, we see the linkage. Great point, Wacaet! The song of Jar of Hearts is also a song that resonates with me, big time! Beautiful song and I LOVE the video!

Anybody in there?

My Narc's favourite song and one of mine as well. It was on a CD he gave me. Maybe I should have paid attention to that first line "Is there anybody in there?" No, there isn't. Thanks, Lisa, for reminding me.
