LOL!

Psychoboy had many of them but the topper was - one day he said to me "Go away! The only reason I talk to you is sexual. That's all you are to me."

The next day I get an email saying "I felt really bad and wanted to say I am sorry. I counted my pills and realized I forgot to take my antidepressant for 4 days. We'll catch up when I get back."

(meantime he went away and spent HOURS on the phone with my friend - planning their affair)

Don't worry despite my brainwashing I didn't fall for that particular excuse - I started to get at the truth. He was on his way to being busted.

When I was pregnant and he was living in a house with lots of female house mates, I needed a piece of paper to write on. He passed me a receipt to write on. Here, I saw he'd bought condoms, my heart raced and I asked him why he had bought condoms. His answer, because when I masturbate wearing a condom keeps the noise down and stops it from being messy.

Mine mostly just clammed up.

Mine mostly just clammed up. I swear he barely told me anything personal the whole length of the ordeal. But when I would ask him specifically why he did something (like why did you come home at noon when you said you'd be here by 10 so we could do what we had planned?) He would come up with an answer that made it seem like he did it for me. Like, "I thought you wanted some alone time". (Alone meaning me with the kids, while he surfed). He couldn't just say "I screwed up. I'm sorry. I'd be mad, too if I were you." NEVER.

Found out about his affair(s). He said, "I told you I was going to hurt you!" Wait, I'm not sure whether to classify that as a lie or an excuse! Translation, "its your fault you didn't leave me before I got caught!" Be kinder than necessary to everyone you meet; for everyone is fighting some kind of battle - anonymous- :o) nolongercontrolled

"we'll catch up when I get back." I laughed out loud over that! After a tirade of horribly cruel insults mine would say, "You know you can't believe anything I say when I'm mad!" and "Dont cry, just hang in there. You know how I get when I haven't been to the gym."

So many excuses, so little time...

When mine would go completely off on me, he would usually find a way to blame me. But some of the excuses were: "Work is so sressful right now, I can't deal with you too." "I haven't been sleeping." "You just make me so upset!"

B.S.

When my first ex N would treat me like crap, he'd blame it on his house being in disarray. He'd say he couldn't think straight when his kitchen wasn't in order. He called it an outward manifestation of his internal disarray. Now mind you, the guy was a slob by nature. When we had sex in his bed, I had to throw off all the socks and dirty underwear that was under the cover. I'd walk into his house and there would be used kleenex and dishes caked with food strewn all over the living room floor. He acted like it wasn't even there and it would be days before he picked it up (maybe a week). Such B.S. Or when he threw a grenade into a weekend getaway together, he offered up, "hey, but it's okay. I can still go." And then accused me of being "too sensitive" when I was hurt that he was excluding me from the trip.

He was more covert. He'd always say "I love you more." Translation: you're not doing enough to show me you love me. In a hissy fit when he wanted me to get rid of my dog, he whined "YOU LOVE THE DOG MORE THAN ME!" Big baby.

Mine would say the same thing! I love you more, and stuff like, who else would do all this for you, look at what I'm sacrificing to be together. I had a huge GUILT CLOUD over my head all the time. He reduced me to this ingrate of a person. I do remember him saying a few times, I'm doing this for YOU...and I'd say, no you're doing this for US. Once in a while I stood up for myself, but it didn't matter. No wonder we become so bitter toward them.
