Mysterious friending on FB

On my facebook account, I have totally blocked him (of course). I noticed that in the week after I did that, I had 2 friend requests from men I had no idea who they were and you could tell by their profile (b/c it stated it) that they had literally just joined FB.

Obviously, I declined these requests as I only have my true friends on my FB.

I've never been friend requested by some stranger before in all the years I've been on FB, so I wonder is this something the 'freak' would do to try to get a look-in to my life?
