“Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.” -pat robertson

Uh, yeah....

The ex-Psych professor saw himself as the Archetypal Man (despite his lisping and his effeminate mannerisms) When I disagreed with him, he'd ACCUSE me of hating men and being a lesbian.... then he D&D'd me for the OW, who was a very butch woman and my classmates assumed she was lesbian. Besides, he didn't like it when I wore dresses, and accused me of being vain.

One of the ex-P's favorite quotes

Women are generally stupid, but the devil lends her brains when she works for him. Then she accomplishes miracles of thinking, farsightedness, constancy, in order to do something nasty." --- Leo Tolstoy 1898 Yes, the ex-Psych professor liked harping about how the Devil made me... smart. He was downright paranoid about how I was somehow "conspiring" to bring him down. Wonder how he took it when he got tenure and saw that no, I didn't go to the Dean's office about how he treated me. It was ALL IN HIS HEAD. Another one of his favorite Tolstoy quotes was "God makes women beautiful, but the Devil makes her pretty"-so he'd go through the idealization/D&D within a matter of minutes saying God made me beautiful... but then that the Devil made me "pretty." The more Tolstoy quotes I read, the more familiar they sound. It's like homeopathy-curing like with like,or a vaccination, that uses a weakened virus. Once, those quotes were used to hurt me... but now they're just... quotes on a page, for whatever use.

He's STILL a professor

He got tenure 7 years ago. He used to tell me that women are "preoccupied with trivialities" (that's the quote from War and Peace in which Prince Andrei abandons his wife to fight Napoleon) I'd tell me that caring about other people somehow made me "preoccupied with trivialities." He's a tenured professor, sad to say.

It actually does not surprise me that he is a tenured professor.

Im not slamming all in the teaching profession but it does seem like Narcsisscm runs rampant among teachers and professor specifically. To the teachers who may be here pls don't take that personally. I just think of all the Mary Kay Leternos and all of the incredibly arrogant college professors I had to deal with. Ironically, my ex N wished he could become a teacher. However that would interfere with his video-game playing day too much.

Most of my teachers were HUMAN...

Even the bad ones. I had bullying, burnt-out teachers in elementary, middle, and high school. They were narcissistic, but not psychopathic who enjoyed tormenting people. The ex-Psych professor admitted so much to being a psychopath and a narcissist. He said that he enjoyed Tolstoy's works because he "struggled with his narcissism." Yeah, this same professor who denounced marriage as a "triviality",condemned childbearing as "making more sufferers" and denounced sex as "the ultimate crime" (the latter two quotes are from Schopenhauer)--ended up marrying and impregnating a curator. Go figure. Talk about a chameleon. He saw marriage merely as a social custom, propriety... not something down out of love. But I'm glad he's NOT my husband, and NOT the father of my children! That would've been a nightmare. I suffered Purgatory with him... but God saved me from Hell.

Wow!

How exciting. I never knew any of that. Looks like I need to get my act together and explore all these aspects of feminism I wasn't aware of. Isn't Pat Robertson dead yet?

OMG fireflie, Shocked beyond belief!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not read this comment but it is no wonder we are dealing with a world that accepts the victimization of women. It is utterly disgusting! This guy is a complete nut case. I love your new pic btw. Once again another beautiful face. It still amazes me how many beautiful and intelligent woman here that are victimized by these monsters!!! only one way to go...Forward (tm?)

yes Betty,

and unfortunately he's not the only nutcase out there. The one that protests the military funerals because he has a problem with homosexuals in the military sservice (or some kind of weird thinking like that) comes to mind...... But the good part is that (in my own humble opinion)only OTHER nutcases make up the majority of the reverend's fanbase.

Okay, I'll rephrase,

Okay, I'll rephrase, Fierflie. I dislike people who force me to feel that way. lol Actually, I think the need to attempt to keep us down goes best with a quote from Socrates, at least I think it was Socrates. "Once woman is made equal to man, woman becomes his superior."

I had to Google him

Not being American I'd never heard of him. I cam across this: "I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period." –Pat Robertson Hilarious! He actually ran for

He actually ran for President. Eek. His latest insane quote was about Haiti. After the earthquake, he claimed that it happened because Haiti made a pact with the devil, IN THE 1700's! So because of being in league with the devil, God caused a massive earthquake in 2010. Suuuure. I always find it so interesting how people like him ignore the part of the Bible that says the husband is to love his wife like Christ loved the church... that same Christ that came to serve in humility... although humility is definitely a foreign concept to Pat Robertson.
