A poem for my NARC

How does it feel to be at the top of the heap?
To fling lightning bolts of viciousness that makes others weep?
How is it to not feel a thing, a block of steely ice?
When a kind word would suffice to melt a heart and give joy to life.
Too long you will remain in your tomb of unfeeling
To find no one kneeling
At your shrine of indifference

Thank you

Needing a release for the anger, I turn to writing. And his shrine is soon to be empty of ME! The peace and joy of the last two weeks with him out of the house has been amazing. With no stress of which "N" will be there when I get home, I am like a limp noodle and sleep like a baby.

beautiful poem

Thanks for sharing this. I am particularly drawn to your words because I'm finding that more and more people in my community are abandoning his "shrine." I am surprised everyday by words of support from people that he believes are his friends and happy employees. His family is on to him too--I'm surprised he hasn't been disinherited. . . yet. He will most likely live out his life in his mausoleum of a house with no friends at all. Unless he moves to a new community and starts the charade all over again. Beautiful writing, okay1150!
