Psychiatrist

Went to a new psychiatrist today. He was very well recommended, very thorough, very knowledgeable.

After the two hour initial meeting, he prescribed a medication. Then he asked me, "You have no intentions of reconciling with your STBXH, right?" I replied no way. He then said, "I never diagnose a patient I haven't met, but I need to tell you that your STBXH is a narcissistic psychopath, and for the sake of you and your children, you should never return."

It was very interesting to hear him say this to me. I told him just the facts or events that happened over the past year. I did not give my opinion or feelings. Just stated the chronological happenings.

I have heard this all from everyone on the board, but it was also an affirmation to hear it from another professional, and another man.

To all the women who question or perceptions of our situations, I can only say meeting with this doctor confirmed everything I heard on this board.

He might have a legal

He might have a legal obligation in his state to tell you what was the diagnoses in case you were in danger. In California they have to tell you if they perceive a psychopath is involved. You are in a tough spot and with children. You need a serious defense system, NO CONTACT, information from the Doctor on how not to engage. A psycopath is a much more deadly beast and you need to take the doctor very seriously. he sounds knowledgeable and right-acting. Not all of them are that way. You will get through this and the best part is yet to come.

Go figure! You found someone with an insight and ability to discern the TRUTH. Good for YOU. If you needed any MORE validation, you just heard it in REAL TIME from a REAL psychiatrist. YEAH! Barbara is dead spot on. She has an uncanny ability to see truth in all this information.....and so did that psychiatrist! You are going to get away from that Narcissist/Parasite. Barbara is dead spot on. She has an uncanny ability to see truth in all this information.... Now if only I'd been this clear-sighted and had my radar working 7 years ago when Psycho-Boy swooped back into my life. Maybe There's a Reason

Hindsight is ALWAYS so much more clear, yah? Barbara, you're such an inspiration to all of us. You have an enourmous intelligence and so much wisdom....AND compassion. The experience you had with Psycho-Boy was so profound, you've been able to turn that experience around in your personal perspective that you can NOW HELP US!!! I hope you realize how important you are. Sometimes when I read the posts from hurting victims who don't know what to do (especially legally to protect themselves and their children), I think to myself, "Well, Barbara will know what to do!!!". Then I wait to see what you say. You rock. neveragain
