Question....

So I keep reading up on NPD and trying to apply it against my ex, who appears in a lot of ways to be a narc --especially the idealization, cheating, devaluing, lack of empathy, feeling of jealousy, needing to be the best, etc.

My question is around the idea of abuse. Mine never physically abused me, and often times he appeared to surfacely be "my biggest supporter" according to him. He was there for me day in and day out, not always the way I would have hoped, but he tried. I think the biggest thing is always made it out like I was too emotional, full of ups and downs, when truthfully, sometimes I was simply calling him out on his behavior or asking him to talk about our relationship. He'd get upset if I criticized him at all, and felt like if I asked any questions about his job, etc., that I wasn't supportive.

He seemed to be there for me, so I keep wondering if he really is a narc...
