She came back after all

I read many posts where the Narcs came back, but never believed mine would. Well....after nine months of NC after a ten year "relationship", she texted me. She knew I loved her little dog, so she told me that her new job as an executive secretary (and added it was the job she always aspired for and was on the eighteenth floor)took all her time and she was regretfully going to have to give her dog away. She has had this little pooch for six years, got her as a puppy, and paid 800 dollars for her. I would not have had the heart to give her away as I do love the little dog. So,I, like a fool responded and texted her to say I was not home much either anymore and couldn't give her dog the time she needed either. She said, "I'm sure you're married by now, and have to consider someone else when getting a dog". I didn't respond after that, but she texted me again to say that she found a good home for her dog closer to where she lives, and that was good because she was going to miss her dog's little personality. She then textred me a week later saying that it didn't work out, and that her dog was grieving over her loss, not eating, so she took her back. After all was said and done, I see now that she was pulling on my heart strings using her dog as bait to fish for any information about me. She e-mailed me after that talking about going on vacation with her family, but I have yet to respond and never will. I really, really pity this woman.
