I'm so glad my STBX totally forgot the sucking up part. I think he may have been EXTRA narcissistic in this way, though, not deficient. The reason I think this, is maybe he thought he didn't even have to suck up and hoover me back in - that he was so groovy and I was so hooked that I'd want to stay with him regardless of anything, including the stuff I was actually telling him (like "I dislike you intensely. I'm going to leave you"). I am in the middle of a bitter, nasty divorce and according to his mom he still thinks I'm coming right back.
