What is up with everyone having dreams?

I am 1 year past the breakup (my decision, not Cruella DeVille's) I endured 2 months of really lame hovering.
Now, I am one month away of my NC anniversary.
For like the last 6 months I had not one single dream about her. Now, for the last 7 nights straight I have dreamt about Cruella every single night! Some of them have been pretty intense. Some were if she was not even aware I was standing right before her. I tried getting her to notice, to just acknowledge I was even there and yet she was oblivious! It was like I was invisible! Hey, those dreams were not that different from how she treated me in real life when we were still together!!!
Others have been more "interactive" with passionate kissing...
Seriously??? Really?
Why is this happening? I have read more than a handful of posts from others here that have been experiencing an upswing in the appearance of their long gone xNarcs in their dreams.
I'm just sayin'. Would just like to understand why this is happening at this juncture.
